Black Sesame Seed Milk Pro Tips
Follow the recipe below for detailed instructions. But here are some tips and substitutions.
For this recipe you will need either a strainer or cheese cloth/nut bag. If you can get your hands on a cheese cloth/nut bag, it will make the process quicker than using a fine strainer.
Regardless of which method used, be sure to place a large bowl under the cheese cloth/nut bag/strainer to catch all of the milk.
If using a cheese cloth/nut bag, pour the contents of the blender into the bag. The liquid will automatically begin to strain. Using your hand to grip the bottom of the bag, and squeeze the contents. This will allow the liquid to strain faster.
If using a strainer, once the liquid has been blended, pour directly into the strainer. Then using a spoon or spatula, mix the liquid around in the strainer. This helps move the more solid remains from the mesh, and allows the liquid to pass through. Once all of the liquid has emptied the strainer, it’s best to remove, or dump out the solid remains before the next pour. The more solid remains, the more build-up, and the longer it will take to strain the liquid.

Our favorite way to complement these flavors is by adding sweetener. We really enjoy the sweetness of dates and maple together and used both for this recipe. This is a forgiving recipe so feel free to substitute with only maple, or only dates as you’d like.
