There was a dish on the menu that included rosemary infused potatoes that were boiled using the whole herbs in the pot. The potatoes were then breaded in charcoal panko bread crumbs. This method was used to give depth of flavor to the potatoes instead of lathering it with salt and butter.
A Kiss of Rosemary
You are going to absolutely love the smell of rosemary in your kitchen while you boil these fragrant, aromatic potatoes. When rosemary sprigs are infused into food, it’s like a magical experience of eating the aroma. Sounds weird, but so true.
Here’s our secret to doing this.
When boiling the potatoes, add rosemary sprigs into the water. As the water warms and begins to boil, the essential oils of the rosemary are released into the water. In effect, the potatoes absorb the water and soften. Their insides become saturated with rosemary oils. This will give your potatoes a wonderful aroma and taste of this natural herb. Whether you’re hosting a gathering, or a holiday party, this dish will be sure to make your home inviting and fragrant for all of your guests.
Besides, being used for its culinary purposes, rosemary is also used for medicinal and aromatic purposes. Originating from the mediterranean, this herb is now grown world wide.
The Smell of Roasted Garlic
Roasted garlic will be another delightful aroma as guests enter your home. There is nothing that gives potatoes a pop of flavor other than roasted garlic. Slow roasted until sweet, caramelized, and garlicky, roasted garlic is an ingredient sent from the flavor gods. You will love these simple additions to these potatoes to really add depth of flavor to your meals.
