Best Black Bean Brownies
This process could not be more simple. No cracking eggs, no messing with tempering chocolate, no messing with whisks or beaters, and minimum equipment is used in the creation.
First, start the recipe by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F.
Next, spray and line your pan with parchment paper. This will help prevent any sticking and messy dishes. If you do not have any non-stick spray handy, take a bit of coconut oil, and rub it onto the sides of the baking pan.
If you are using canned beans, be sure to drain and rinse them thoroughly. This process will help to remove any of that can flavor or excess salt from the beans. We like to spray them down, mixing with our hands to ensure they are clean. Also, you may use dried and cooked beans. If you use dried beans; however, be sure that they are cooked until very soft.
Place all of the ingredients except the chocolate chips into a food processor. Blend the ingredients until a batter forms, scraping the edges and re-blending as necessary.
Fold the chocolate chips into the batter. After that is mixed, use a spatula to scrape the batter into the pan. In addition, be sure to spread the batter evenly across the pan for perfect cooking.
At this point you may want to add more chocolate chips if you like to garnish on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Let the Brownies Cool
These vegan black bean brownies are a bit different than normal brownies in terms of cooling. They do require a bit of extra time, but these gluten free healthy brownies are well worth the wait.
Allow the brownies to cook at room temperature for 20 minutes. Once cooled for 20 minutes, transfer the brownies to the refrigerator for an additional 20 minutes. This will help the brownies to tighten up. Since they are a flourless brownie, this will firm up the almond butter, beans, and coconut oil to help them hold together.
